Ryner's life is the suck and he would seriously HIT Sion if he wasn't guilt-tripping right now, and Zero thinks Aather is beyond stupid but is perfectly happy with his role as a knight and is making grate friends with vampires and other assorted crazies. SO LET'S QUESTION MEME.

As mentioned above, I play Night/Ryner and Thorn/Zero.

it's not late, it's differently on time.

Okay so Aather!Ferris is considerably fluffier primarily in part to not having too many terrible memories, and, as predicted, the influence of others. At first Ryner was a source of amusement! He makes funny reactions if she says certain trigger things and since she lacks the creativity to make up more "colorful" stuff, she's since figured out how to recycle these triggers in different ways to produce the same effect. Hitting him is partly because she has no outlet for expressing her feelings or that it is a (Sion endorsed) distraction, but it's also fun for childish, sadistic reasons. She partly does it because she can, and he takes it like a champ, lather, rinse, repeat. Was she taking advantage of the fact she owned his ass for a whole week? Absolutely. And it wasn't in a "I almost died, he owes me" sort of way, because she'd already differentiated Ryner from his Alpha Stigma state. She was alive, he was sorry for what he did, no harm, no foul. So it became a game of "what ridiculous crap can I tell him to do?" To her surprise, he did all of it. I think this was partly covered before.

Then they got to know each other better, and she started to understand that he was afraid of who he was. Seeing him scared and sad about that made her feel bad, and she justified it at first by assuming it's because broken toys aren't particularly fun to play with. Then Marie suggests that she might care for Ryner. So it's all her fault, really, for planting an idea in her head that she wouldn't have come to as quickly. In canon, it's just the two of them, and she didn't have any outside party to act as a sounding board and help her sort things out.

When she got around to getting the memory of the two of them locked in Sion's office, she gets that he feels she and Sion can't even to start to understand what he's going through and that he thinks that the only way to relieve them of the burden that is his existence is to RUN AWAY. Total 180 from the lulz of putting him in a dress, so it's rather shocking to her. Then Sion explains that AS bearers are mistreated and feared and she feels... rather guilty for being such a brat. Then there's the issue of why Ryner comes back despite all that, and Sion suggests that she might be that reason and also expresses hopes that Ferris loves Ryner (so it's also the stupid king's fault). She also knows that she and Ryner exchanged rather personal words, so that kind of goes hand in hand with that suggestion, so she's come to the conclusion that she confessed to him.

This, plus large amounts of guilt regarding his AS angst led to more guilt. Combined with the issue that she maybe-confessed to him, and maybe-loves him made her struggle over how exactly to define what their relationship is, how she should be acting within that relationship and WHAT THE HELL IS LOVE ANYWAY? It made her worry if she's abusing him too much. It's also what makes her feel like she needs to pull her own weight workload wise, leading her to offer to help him out with all the assignments Sion gives them. So when he tells her that they're fine the way they are, it's a very nice reassurance to her. It also makes her feel like things would be alright even if she didn't label exactly what they have.
