Zero mostly finds Kit easy-going when it comes to chatting with him, but he's especially intrigued whenever Kit shows off the more serious side of himself. He likes that hint that Coral is more than the perky display they usually show to others. Mostly because it makes the team feel more well-rounded. Zero tends to like poking at that more serious side since it's what he's more familiar with.

Tell me about Kit and Coral~.

Kit and Coral are doing super well with each other right now! HE LIKES HIS TEAM, they have endeared themselves onto him, and he enjoys living/working/protecting them like a teammate. For a while there he was kind of ignoring Coral's needs in favor of his own ideals, which caused a bit of friction between him and the idea of 'team dynamic,' but recently he has started to realize that he needs to make decisions with his teammates, not without them, so he's taking their opinions and desires into account even more than he used to. It's why he didn't press for the violet options in Odile game since his team was so against it and he didn't want to upset them, since the last time he pushed for Coral self-sacrifice Dragonfly got super angry '-'; SO YEAH, he's... slowly beginning to learn to work with a team, rather than just individually like he's used to.

Also Coral is the team that is super fluffy and lighthearted and cheery on the outside, but inside all of that fluff they do have ISSUES, it's just that... most of those team members keep those issues to themselves, and really, only Dragonfly and Ferret are the ones who air their issues out in the open. And since Kit is pretty much the kind of person who does project a cheery, jokey exterior to hide his issues (with momentary lapses into seriousness when needed), the team is a pretty darn good fit for him :|a

Long story short, Kit enjoys his team and would do anything to protect them and try to make them happy! But even though he's started to take their opinions/reactions into account more when deciding things he's still a pretty reckless guy s-so I'm sure he'll do something stupid to get himself hurt that will frustrate them in the future.

How do you think Zero would have done on a team?

Sob Kit.

HORRIBLE. Zero needs a motivation to not emo-ball into eternity. This is the very reason I made him a knight. He would've made his team MISERABLE. |D Because whereas knight!Zero backs down in favor of team will, team!Zero would believe he had an equal say and would do HORRIBLE THINGS TO HIMSELF to help them win. Now, they might be able to guilt him into believing that's cruel but then he would just memory death-spiral and go live in the woods/sunflower fields. Also, Zero is NOT a team player. He is a PARTNER player. He will pretty much only tolerate working with one person and the others' opinions are lesser. But yeah, Zero super would've drawn away from the team for their own safety and would've developed his OMG I DON'T CARE shields pretty fast after that BIG SIG NEG to protect himself. It would not have been pleasant for anyone involved. XD

Mitsuru and Citrine!

MITSURU LOVES CITRINE, but those feelings really come from one of her memories fortifying the team concept for her! They are to work together, through thick and thin, to help each other and look out for each other and so on, and she wants to fall into that pattern with them as much as she can and be a good teammate. However, Citrine is also a highly fractured team, and this was made glaringly obvious in her first game... so her main goals for right now are to fix those fractures somehow :c Mostly through diplomatic team meetings that probably won't work...

But before she can do that, she needs to help fix the issues that lingered after Odile's game. Riku and Sunny are still missing their hands and Kurei is missing his heart and Drift has flounced from Citrine and she is just like "T-TEAM DON'T FALL APART ON ME!" So while she is frustrated with Citrine's broken nature, she is determined to help fix it because they are her team and she will help them in any way possible gdmit X(

ALTERNATIVELY, how would Ryner had done as a knight?

I love Mitsuru as another team leader. XD

Hmm, I'm not sure. I don't think he would be good at it since he's a lazy bum and Ryner canonly does not do well with knight. So the other knights would tell him what to do and he would blow them off. Also, Ryner needs a fairly strong supportive atmosphere to not emotionally shut down as he does in canon so I wanted to ensure he had that. Ryner is just not the take charge type until more into the sequel and even then, he haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaates it a lot. So Ryner would be pretty miserable as a knight. Even helping people wouldn't do it for him.

Both of mine would have made excellent knights! Mitsuru because she's a leadery type who can step back and let someone else lead in order to help them grow, and Kaito because the knight position puts him in a place where he can protect/help others while still working on his own, in an individual capacity. Actually, the knight position is about 100x more appropriate for Kaito than the team one is because he is a lone wolf by nature, but I chose to put him on a team because I knew it would take him out of his comfort zone and foster development that he just wouldn't get as a knight. Though I do daydream about having apped him in a knight position often so... '-'

How are your characters different from their respective canon counterparts? IF IT'S TOO LONG FOR BOTH you can just answer for one |Da

Zero

Ryner is not thaaaaaaaaaaaaaat much different, aside from being slightly more inclined to let people care about him and being attached to Amethyst. In canon, Ryner has learned better than to attach. He is also more physical with Ferris and Sion than he is in canon, but he still tends to retreat back to his distance like a startled cat. He's actually less lazy though because he's more determined to help Sion. That's the biggest change is that he knows more about what's going on with Sion so he makes a bigger effort to be there for him and things of that nature and blames himself partly for what Sion has been forced to become. This is actually more like his canon self in the sequel, who is much more aware and mature.

Mitsuru is too new for me to really say either way, but as for Kit...

-- His surface personality is essentially the same. He's cheerful, jokey, a little snide and sarcastic sometimes, and he maintains a lot of the base things that make Kaito, well... Kaito. There is less of a divide between Kaito and Kid however, and he is prone to shifting into a more adult-like, gentlemanly demeanor mid-conversation (mostly this happens when he's talking about more serious things or when he's performing magic, but lately it's started to happen during teasing and regular conversations, too). Eventually he'll probably shift away from Kaito's immaturity toward something more gentlemanly-like on a more regular basis, but he needs more memories for that :|a

-- Has less issues with theft. Like, in canon, there's an entire guilt complex associated with it because the officer chasing him is the father of his best friend/love interest. But since he doesn't really remember that yet, he's a lot more blase about it :|a Thus, he doesn't really try to hide it per se (though he's past the point of telling people about it up front), nor does he really think much of it when he does steal because hey, it's just thievery, it's not like people are getting hurt. Is also more likely to be self-serving with his thefts (such as stealing food from the knights to feed his team... :V), though this has not come up yet! And idk if it will, since he's no petty thief and isn't about to just steal from teams just because he can.

-- Relies on other people more :|a Which comes from being on a team, really. Is generally more touchy-feely than his canon counterpart (is more okay with invasions of his personal space, so long as they are teammates. Still gets a little UNSURE with non-teammates). Doesn't quite use the team for emotional support since he believes he needs to be that support (and flopping over them in DESPAIR would just complicate things), so he still internalizes issues, he is just. More aware of team dynamics!

-- VERY resistant to being seen as/called a kid. WHICH IS WEIRD SINCE... KAITOU KID and all that, but! He has early experiences of Coral/knights keeping things from him to 'protect' him, and it makes him D< because he believes he is very capable and can handle things like that just fine. This is also odd because he still tends to act immature at times... orz.

ETA: BECAUSE I FORGOT

-- Still very malleable as a character :o! Things can really affect him and shift his characterization drastically, while in canon he's pretty much set on who he is. He's gone through a lot of changes this past month to illustrate this, especially with his ideas on team and team dynamics, and I'm sure he still has a loooong ways to go before he settles into something more permanent.

Would you ever app a third? :|a

Not at the moment, even though I have been contemplating characters. Two is enough for me, I would never have time for three. |Da

What drew you toward the characters you apped?

I apped him because his canon is shorter than Conan's :|a

THOUGH THAT WAS... three-ish years ago now. I've been playing him for a super long time now, but for Aather specifically, I wanted to try something new with him! And I didn't really trust myself to play a brand new character in an amnesia setting when I had never played with amnesia before.

Hikaru :( He'd pull himself up by his bootstraps and continue on with a vow to save Hikaru from the book/darkness no matter what, but it'd really make him internally go DDDD8 while he just went :) I-it's okay guys he'll be fine on the outside.
