Zero thinks Spitfire is a decent enough person since Zero generally likes the saner members of Iolite and Spitfire is Ace's friend. But there is a bit of JUDGING going on since Spitfire confessed about his little story. This is only slightly mitigated by the fact that Spitfire did at least tell him. However, Zero does appreciate Spitfire's generally good mood.

Tell me about Spitfire and Drift.

THIS IS REALLY THE BEST ANSWER I CAN GIVE because it's still pretty up to date because there was an update after the last heart games with additional stuff:

"Drift made Spitfire incredibly happy when he brought him the pie, then confused the hell out of him with the cold shoulder after the game. He doesn't know what happened, and he's not really planning on pressing it too hard. He was also startled by the harshness of Drift's kiss though he wasn't unwilling to kiss him. He's kind of still confused atm and worried about him, but snuggling Drift after bad games isn't a problem either."

How is Thorn different from Zero (canon)?

SEVERAL THINGS.

- Biggest is that Thorn does not hate vampires. He outright refuses to do so because he mostly hates his past self. Zero tells himself he HATES ALL VAMPIRES AND WISHES TO SEE THEM DEAD. Thorn has mostly had positive support from the Aatherpires so he doesn't see a reason to transfer what Shizuka did to him onto them. That said, Thorn gets MUCH TESTIER when vampires tell him what to do than other people because HE'S NOT THE SAME TYPE OF VAMPIRE.

- Thorn drinks blood semi-regularly. Zero takes blood tablets because he only drank Yuuki's blood. Thorn also takes tablets and combines them with weekly blood-drinking for extra assurance against going into a blood-crazed fit if someone's hurt. Zero takes tablets by the handful, while Thorn can get by with a few since he supplements with blood.

- Thorn is MUCH LESS of a bitch. After his parents were killed in front of him, Zero adopted a shield of disinterest and a generally bad attitude. He uses this to not have to deal with things, although it also can be applied to tough love scenarios, especially around Yuuki. Thorn has been unable to develop this shield because it would damage his relationship with the teams and Thorn values that too much. Thorn still has his bitchy side when he's judging or angry but it is a shell of the canon version.

- Because of this, Thorn is actually less stable. As mentioned in the above essay. Zero is also deeply unstable but manages to stabilize himself through his shields of indifference, whereas Thorn flounders when emotionally shaken and has to find solid ground. It is also much easier to hit Thorn's unstability point and make everything topple.

- Thorn isn't as opposed to human closeness. Zero thinks he's entirely too tainted and besides Yuuki really wants Kaname so what's he even thinking. Thorn has MAJOR CONCERNS about being a crazy-ass vampire but due to afore-mentioned instability, he also reflexively leans more. So people get away with a lot more contact than Zero would ever tolerate, though Zero has more freedom to emo-ball in his room for as long as he wants. And does.

- Thorn has MUCH MORE issues with Ichiru than Zero. This is because Ichiru is dead so Zero honestly just wants to be with him again and would probably put up with ANYTHING from him to have that. Also, Zero and Ichiru pretty much made their peace before Ichiru died, with both admitting how much they loved each other. Thorn does not have this. He only knows Ichiru helped Shizuka kill their parents and told her to turn him into a vampire so he'd slowly go crazy. :( That said, Thorn still loves Ichiru; he just thinks he's horribly messed up for it.

- Thorn is basically the nicer, more gentle version of Zero that still does exist but is very buried under bitterness and rage and his own internal lies about what he believes and what he wants. He is Zero actually DEALING with things, mostly. But because Zero's life is FUCKING CRAZY, he is more damaged for it. Hence why I sometimes call Thorn Puppy!Zero. You do see hints of Puppy!Zero from time to time in recent canon but he's very quick to cover this up by shoving his gun in someone's face. |D He doesn't like being told he's lying about being a bastard.
