Date: 2011-12-06 06:12 am (UTC)2. Ryner Reed. Half of the Lonesome Demon who Lieral, Ryner's father, implanted in him to partially neutralize Alpha so Ryner could return from a berserk state. This cost Ryner both his name, Feruna Lietolu, and his other. Ryner Reed is the dere half, though still quite crazy, and likes to lax about. He is very much in love with the Mad Hero since he's his FIRST FRIEND EVER. He is a giant derp but INSANELY POWERFUL. He is also Ryner's former incarnation so it gets especially confusing. |D
3. Ilna. Ryner's mother. She ended up part of him as a result of Lieral's spell. Her destiny is to be the sacrifice for Alpha and to stop the Mad Hero from devouring Ryner before the time is right.
Ryner is mostly aware of Alpha, but less as an entity ad more as a voice in his head and something that troubles is dreams when Alpha is especially upset. He knows Alpha takes over when he goes berserk. He knows nothing of the other two.
Tell me about Mark's personalities.

Date: 2011-12-06 06:46 am (UTC)Okay, so I should first note that when I get to talking about Mark's various identities, I'm kind of working on two axes. He's gone through several very distinct phases in his life, during which he had different names, different overall goals, and pretty different identities. Paleon is essentially another one of those. To continue with the surface-identity-over-sea-of-black-goo analogy, those were basically a series of masks he put on, making a new one each time the previous one got shattered. Basically due to his extremely fuxxored life, he had a very long and complicated process of identity formation; there's a reason I picked the journal name I did.
Buuuuuuuut there's also a different set of personalities. Because basically, after a certain point, the sea of black goo got ORGANIZED. This happened when Mark spent about five days in the hands of an utterly masterful torturer who managed to hit him horrificially on pretty much every fracture point that already existed in his psyche due to previous trauma. The identity he'd developed at the time--his final identity (not counting Paleon, of course) and the only truly positive and likeable one--was barely twelve weeks old and fragile. So he let it sink down to sleep deep inside. He comments later that his personality didn't so much split as it inverted. And I should note that this is a) purely psychological, not a magical thing and b) NOT dissociative identity disorder. Because he didn't dissociate. He remembered everything, he just created personas, as necessary, to deal with it. They were the Black Gang, and they were his deepest issues organized, personalized, weaponized, and ready to deal with whatever got thrown at him.
Gorge is the eating/food/body issue complex. He's the most vulnerable of the lot, relatively easygoing, a tasteful gourmand on a good day. On a bad day, he's a compulsive over-eater and can be somewhat bothersome.
Grunt is the sexuality. He's quite shy when he's not all excited, but then he's an utterly shameless and omnivorous hedonist, but also capable of being very loving and sensual. Mark's girlfriend is very fond of him. :3
Howl is the masochism, and he's a butt. The others don't like him so much. He can get particularly problematic during peacetime, as it were, because food and sex are generally plentiful and pain not so much, and he's probably the most difficult for Mark to wrangle. Grunt and Gorge don't like him much either (though they get along with each other.)
Killer does what it says on the tin. :) Killer is the perfect assassin, ruthless, practical, and unable to feel pain. He's also yan. Very, very yan. If Mark ever fully re-develops Killer in Aather, he will possibly out-yan Fon. :) He remains relatively apart from the other voices, serving as a quiet shadowy leader, and is generally quiet in peacetime. Unless, you know, someone is troubling Mark's people. :) :) :)
After Mark got out of there (when Killer surfaced and kicked his torturer to death with his bare feet with both his hands tied behind his back), he did not attempt to integrate or suppress the Black Gang, and that's one of the things I love the most. No more being a surface persona over a sea of black goo. Troublesome as they could be at times, they were his and they completed him. And one of the reasons I've started requesting memories and trying to shove him through some of his story arc is so that I can get them back in Aather. :D
...also yes, Mark is very fucking crazy, but he makes it work for him.
GAH THAT WAS LONG now you understand some of what I mean when I say Mark and identity is complicated on facebook.
I am kind of derping on questions after writing that monstrosity...does Ryner have favorite Personae?

Date: 2011-12-08 12:09 am (UTC)Mark: If he had a chance to choke the life out of Odile with his bare hands, he'd take it, and he doesn't even have Killer back yet. :)
I am sort of derping on questions at the moment...so derp that I wrote up this comment and forgot to post it for ages. Any more questions for me? o/
