Memory 1: Writing report while imprisoned
The room around him is fairly dark and dusty. And barred from the front. A cell. He's alone in it, the only other occupant being a spider that works at its web while he chats with it as if it were another person. Piles of books are stacked on either side of him and throughout the room, which is just big enough for him to move around it. His talk coincides scribbling notes onto a sheet of paper and then adding it the growing stack beside him. Once he finishes the latest sheet, he grabs a handful of the rest and begins flipping through. Descriptions of ancient magical relics and the legends behind their whereabouts and one page wishing a better life for some people whose names he can't recognize: Kiefer, Tayle, Toni, Fahl, Sion.
What he learns
- He has been in jail. Why? Probably for a long time too, with all the books. This makes him slightly uneasy...
- He likes researching fantasy. That's a little weird.
- He can't be that terrible a person if he's thinking about other people. Unless they were somehow the reason he was in jail, especially since three of those names (Tayle, Toni and Fahl) were dead according to what he had been reading then. And the other two were unhappy.
All in all, not the most comforting memory in the world.
