You can make a bridge out of a log and it stays up, doesn't it? You can do that with arches too.

A lot of biggest bridges are natural, too. The smallest islands can move around, but the districts are steady! You wouldn't know you were floating unless you went out to one of the ports to see the drop-off.

Resting doesn't keep you in shape.

Not resting makes you lethargic and slow and not able to think as swiftly.

If you exercise you'll wake right up.

You still need sleep so your muscles don't get overworked.

A normal eight hours a night would suffice for that.
