Memory 43: Lir vs. God's Eyes

Memory goes here, starting at 7:00 and ending around 10:50 when Ryner charges Liir.

What he learns?
- One of Gastark attacked Lafra and others!
- The man killed Lafra as he was trying to save another one of the God's Eyes
- Tiir was badly injured in the fight
- One of the God's Eyes activated Alpha Stigma and snapped
- Before Ryner could reach her, Liir removed her eyes with a stone, killing her
- He'd never known such rage before that moment...
- The man has a Ring of Lightning Beasts, just like Miran. Another relic. And it's powerful to even take down Tiir.
- He couldn't stop him from killing even more of Tiir's children...

What this means in Aather?

Obviously, this is a pretty bad memory for Ryner, as it involves a lot of death and a lot of helplessness. It also shows him that the Magic Eyes aren't completely immune and that certain items can destroy them and harness their magic. Sui mentioned something like this in another of Ryner's memories. But it's something else entirely so see it play out! Ryner is horrified he couldn't save Lafra, who seemed so kind and gentle, or the other God's Eyes who died so pointlessly. Just because this Gastark wanted their power. This memory is big for the sheer burning RAGE that's present in Ryner and the true desire to kill, something that both frightens and satisfies him. Because who would do that to people?!

In real time, Ryner is taking this memory at the heart of many losses (Paleon, Sion, Sky and "Pascal") so it hits especially hard in that helpless spot. It makes him truly afraid that he can't protect anyone or anything, no matter what he does. And since he's been struggling so hard to protect Amethyst lately since so many of them are new, it knocks him wildly off-center. :(b

Memory 44: Training Arua

Memory goes here~

What he learns?
- Telling little children stories about how your trainer wanted to murder you is a total valid way of proving a point about survival.
- He actually really enjoys teaching! Especially when he has someone so willing to learn. He misses trying to teach Yuta. :(
- In Roland's magic education, the second year of training is actual magic, while the first is learning to identify the spirits/energy around you.
- More of how he can create his own magic~.

What this means in Aather?
This isn't a huge memory, but it's nice for Ryner because it does show him how much he enjoys training others and just how much magic is a part of him to begin with. He likes knowing he could help Arua. And it's a bit more about how his young training prepared him to face terrible things and defeat in this world, which is essential for Alpha Stigma bearers, who lead cursed lives. That and his ability to do his own magic always gives him some sense of accomplishment and pride.

In real time, this memory will not deal a major blow to the negative memories, but it will instill a desire to teach that could present itself once Ryner more fully recovers from some of his issues. That said, it also reminds him of his lost magic so that is particularly hard.

Memory 45: Eris House

Memory goes here, starting at 10:40 and ending around 14:30, after you get the shot of the sleeping children.

What he learns?
- Eris lives in a huge mansion with a butler. Not that surprising since the Eris family is nobility.
- Arua and Kuku are also there and doing well after the incident with Gastark.
- He immediately knew Ferris was abused until 14 yrs when Lucile killed parents, when the butler mentioned something about Ferris having difficulty connecting with people. Although he and Ferris have discussed this before, the thought still makes his blood boil.
- The butler is very grateful that Ferris now has very special friends. '-'
- WHY MUST PEOPLE ALWAYS BEAT HIM UP? HE'S NOT A PERVERT! DAMMIT FERRIS.
- Ferris is obsessed with dango, as always.
- Lucile's dojo seriously fucked him up when he tried to analyze it on a whim. This makes sense now that he knows about Lucile's curse.
- Arua's magic is still too weak to make out anything like that.
- This must be when he decided to investigate the dojo and met Lucile. Bad feelings...

What this means in Aather?

Not much since a lot of this was just clarifying some things he's learned from previous memories. There are a lot of feel good memories about the Erises taking care of the kids and of just chilling with them and enjoying some peace.

In real time, still no major impact on negative memory. But every little positive helps...

Memory 46: Birthday invitation

First things, I fucked up and this should probably be more like Trivial Neutral because of what it leads to. :x

Memory goes here, starting around 19:25 until the end.

What he learns?
- Miilk gave him an invite to her birthday, but he had some conflict because he knew he'd already promised Ferris some dango things on the same day. :|a
- Miilk doesn't know her real birthday since they're both orphans. But her squadron made up one for her. Aww, that's really sweet.
- The invite was actually Sion's note to Luke about killing him if he went berserk. It's obvious Luke slipped the note in the invite without Miilk's knowledge. He finds the act kind of under-handed but also understands that it was Luke's way of protecting both Miilk and Sion from him. :( Feelings.

What this means in Aather?
Most of the fluffiness of this memory is off-set by the reminder of the pressures Ryner puts on Sion's and other people's lives. Since Luke even inadvertently involved Miilk in his subterfuge, and that would have upset her if she had known. So it's a lot of suck. This is probably a not so great memory to get at a time when Ryner is suppressing a lot of his more negative feelings from people, especially Amethsyt, in hopes of allowing them more happiness without burdening them with his problems. :(b

Skill 11: Summons

Basically, this is another stolen skill from Estabul and allows Ryner to summon beasts made of pure energy that can do a fair bit of damage.

Wolf summon:
- The summon is fast and powerful and involves two wolves.
- As this is stolen magic, it will take a lot more out of Ryner to use and as it is one of his more powerful stolen magic, it will kick his ass a lot. |D
- "I offer up this contract, to unleash the magic beast which dances through the skies!"
- Example at 15:08

Snake summon:
- Snake summon?
- See above but with snakes!
- As this is stolen magic, it will take a lot more out of Ryner to use and as it is one of his more powerful stolen magic, it will kick his ass a lot. |D
- "I offer up this contract, letting the power of the earth-crawling spirit snake overflow!"
