Memory 40 - Significant Negative
Jun. 21st, 2012 09:13 pmMemory 40: Killing for the first time with Alpha Stigma
Memory goes here. Start at 19:16.
What he learns?
- Living by himself at 5 but has young friends, Del and Quill, who joke about being his parents.
- Soldeirs invaded the village and were killing and assaulting people.
- They killed his Quill's mother when she tried to protect her.
- Using his AS for the first time to kill a soldier with fire after the soldier kills Del with the same spell.
- The soldiers flee but Quill no longer wants anything to do with him and is terrified.
- Everyone sees him as a monster among them and want to kill him.
What this means in Aather?
While Ryner remembers being responsible for his friends' deaths, this is the first time he's remembered actually killing. And at a super young age. When it's clear that AS instinctual protection took over him. This is fairly hard memory because it reinforces a belief that even if he uses his magic to protect people, it is vicious and people are right to regard him as a monster for it. And that he's been this way since childhood. It's a difficult thing for him to shake, even with the support he has in Aather. And possibly even harder now that Amethyst, his main support circle, is a bit fractured... He's not like Arua. He is not innocent.
This will have more play in dangerous games, probably...
