What he learns?
- Set up Arua to rescue Kuku so he could have his own responsibility
- Gastark twins were waiting for them...
- Sui wants them to join Gastark since his king, Riphal, is uniting the world for peace.
- He doesn't believe in Gastark's methods of killing innocents in their path.
- He also hates how Gastark views Alpha Stigma bearers as less than human.
- Sui believes he beared the weight of killing for peace.
- He has killed many because of his eyes too.
- He is furious because of what they want of Arua.
- Though Sui believes nobody can accept AS bearers, Ryner belives Sion does and is working for true peace. He says if Sion takes the wrong path, he's knock him back into line. This is especially important because he now knows Sions makes the same hard sacrifices as Gastark.
- Ferris agrees with him.
- Tag-teams Sui with Arua.
- Sui considers AS the weakest of magic eyes.
- Refuses to let Sui torment Arua by saying AS bearers terrify normal people.
What this means in Aather?
This memory has a weird after-taste to it since it's Ryner remembering how fiercely he clung to his belief that Sion really did believe he could create a peaceful world without any sacrifices. He realizes now how much he wasn't paying attention and just blindly assumed everything went well for Sion. It's a bitter pill to swallow since Ryner still believes in him. But it also affirms his determination to SMACK SION BACK INTO LINE. Because Sion really is creating a place that accepts AS bearers, even at the cost of his own soul.
It's also a reminder of how savagely Ryner will protect others being mistreated, while allowing the same to happen to him without saying a word. It's weird to know Gastark wants him, but it makes sense, considering the power Gastark has already amassed through the Rule Fragments. It's also good to remember that Ferris always sides with his belief in a better world and that she will support him in trying to protect it.
Also, more of the world's general disgust toward AS users, even completely innocent ones like Arua. :(
But on the plus side, good evidence of the benefits of strategy! Will probably be applying more of that. :|a
