[ If you had paid visit before, you might notice that where you start seems fairly familiar. But since most of you haven't… the first thing you'll notice is red. Dark red all around you. The sky, the ground—everything is red. It's impossible to make out anything among the color. But if you attempt to stare at any particular space for too long, you'll discover it pulses, flows.

And then there is a laugh that you are probably very acquainted with by now, only this time it’s LOUDER, wracking inside your skull. ]

FOOLISH WORMS! THIS IS MY DOMAIN NOW. YOU SHALL ALL PERISH. TORN ASUNDER. NOTHING LEFT.

Also, I futzed up by not putting up a mingle header. If you show up late and want to talk to Alpha in addition to/instead of the second NPC, let me know. I doubt many people really want to talk to Alpha though... ))

[ The light is coming, impossibly enough, from a massive black sword stabbed in the center of an Alpha Stigma symbol that looks slightly different (focus on the eyes in this picture). ]

[examining the sword without touching it or the seal. are there any markings? does it give off any particular... feeling? any pings someone utterly without magic could pick up on?]

[ No real markings. Sword looks like this. But it does feel like a consuming kind of power... ]

... I don't know enough to know if drawing the sword would help, or make things go terribly wrong.

But I do know... first friend or not, we've got a claim on you, too.

"I don't mind having more friends. But you can't pull it out right now anyway. We don't have enough of an advantage yet. Need more power."

Any advice on where I should look?

"I can't tell you everything. This is about you guys too, isn't it? But I can tell you that most places probably have something you can help. That's usually a good start."

... I don't suppose you can tell me if there's somewhere else I should head to through here, or if I'd be better off turning around?

[wherever it's possible to go this way! exploring... but his intention is to be traveling deeper, towards things that are more hidden, if that makes a difference]

[ Well, in this area, there's the dango shop? Or you could go to the forest in Aather? ]
