And he does actively get sick in too much sunlight; hence why he uses his kitty transformation. He also gets sick if he hasn't drank blood in a while because he's used to it now and the pills aren't strong enough. They're really not strong enough in canon either because something's been fucking with them. So a few problems I guess.
