stigmateyes: (ɒ analyze and breakdown)
I forgot to do this a while ago when Ryner actually got this skill. Basically, Ryner has the true form of his Alpha Stigma. This means that he can pretty much see the composition of ANYTHING (not just spells.) For the sake of fairness, this ability is more or less impaired during games. But in everyday Aather, it is on. It took a while for him to control it so it didn't give him constant headaches from, you know, SEEING EVERYTHING ALWAYS. He does it both automatically and on-command. In canon, he's currently under a curse that blocks this ability, but he hasn't gotten that skill back at Aather because that's no fun and his canon will continue on possibly forever. Also lack of translations.

What this means for other characters is that Ryner can tell if they're not human and other details that others might miss during general observation. Rarely will Ryner call them on this because it's just not his thing. BUT if you have a super duper special thing that you don't think Ryner should be able to tell from auto-analyzing your character, let me know and I will ignore it. I'm mostly using people's stats for Ryner to auto-analyze anyway.

Hey heartsplorers,

I'd like to set up a good time/day for the boss fight. As I said before, I'll continue any/all heart exploration threads, but I'd like to nail down this. I would also like to get as many people around for a chunk of time as possible. I don't need 5 hours but 2-3 solid is likely.

While my preference is Monday, February 24th after 7 PM EST, I am all right if that time is not good for most people.

This post is for you guys to tell me what's good for you and I will work with that. If the best time will be next weekend, then that's how we'll roll. Let me know. This heart is out-of-time for now (and Ryner is with Dream). If it's better to have this happen *after* GM game, that's fine too. I just want to hear what people think.
stigmateyes: (Default)
Here is what I have for a general plan:

Heart starts at 6 PM EST Thursday since this seems to be the time most people are around. It will run as long as people want to play. I don't want to rush people so I will be running this out of normal Aather time.

As previously mentioned, this heart has an objective, that being the boss fight. There are things characters must do to initiate this. My idea was to go into boss fight if initiated and run that thread and exploradora threads at the same time, concurrently. In general, changes that can occur as a result of exploradora will not affect the boss fight. The boss fight is affected purely by characters' responses.

I would also like to coordinate the endgame of the boss fight when that point is reached. So I'm not super concerned with it now.

If you have any suggestions/concerns with the basic design of this run (stuff mentioned above), mention them below and we'll try to sort this out as a group.

New post since many things were rescheduled and reworked for Ryner's Heart.

REMINDER -- THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS HEART RUN:
1. Ryner's heart is a pretty scary place. Warnings for uber violence, death and general unpleasantness.
2. The endgame and second half of this heart run is a BOSS FIGHT. Characters and True Heart will face off against Ryner's god-demon possession, Alpha. This will not be easy and probably will involve a lot of violence and Alpha fucking you up with imagery as well. Non-combatants will also have ways to damage Alpha. (Tell me whether you want them in a safe place during the fight or in the fray. ) YOU CAN DIE but one of the heart's NPCs will bring you back. Death will still be unpleasant.
3. Characters share the heart with two other NPCs. Ryner's mom. :') And Reed. These are actual possessions, not figments of the heart. You can't affect/change them.
4. Half of the heart will be your general exploradora (similar in structure to Ryner's first run) and you will be able to affect some minor changes on Ryner. Note the warnings at the top. Exploradora does not mean safe. :x Alpha is still out to fuck with you, even before you face him in person. Tread with care.
5. Skills will totally be allowed in all areas, save two. For heart metaphor reasons. I'll let you know.

Looking for Thursday Feb. 20 (maybe Friday). COMMENT HERE WITH EMAIL AND BEST TIMES/DAYS FOR YOU IF INTERESTED. Due to the plot behind this heart, I'll have to limit sign-ups to CR. But really, if you know Ryner, you can probably play.

Yes, I know this is close to the GM game, but your end result will be POSITIVE so although elements may be traumatic, this should not DESTROY anyone before trauma game.

**ETA: Because this wasn't initially clear and I'm sorry for that, this post is just for figuring out who wants to be involved, given the concept of the heart. I will figure out real dates and stuff later, and I see trauma is on the horizon so I'll have to take that into consideration with my timing too. So I'm not going to put a definite month here yet.**

Okay, so Ryner is almost out of Season 1 memories and ready to move onto Season 2, but before that can happen, he needs to deal with Alpha. This is where the heart game comes in.

I'm thinking of scheduling once I can give Amethyst time to pick up a few more memories. Let me know good times for you.

[What it says on the tin]
stigmateyes: (greatest magician in Roland)
So I plurked about this the other day and decided to jot something down so I have a reference now that Ryner has a HUGE chunk of his magic back.

I am working with a 16-points/day system since Ryner's heavy hitting magic will be worth 10-12 MP a shot. :|b

This also does not include the general headache strain of using Alpha Stigma's analysis abilities or creating magic since those will fall under general sickness/migraine/pass out rules. If Ryner hits 16, he is maxed out and will pass out. Up to 12 will reel him. 10 will give him one hell of a headache. Anything below that is fine and he'll get off with just some general lethargy. Except for Estabul speed magic, which carries its own instant exhaustion once the spell is over.

Memory 1: Saving Miilk

Memory goes here. Just the first scene.

What he learns?
- He was separated from his family when he was very young. Beauty and Ferris are nowhere to be found.
- His world back home was at war at one point. It's hard to know if it still is. Maybe Beauty knows.
- He was part of some group that sent children to war as soldiers.
- He was often surrounded by children who died in the process
- Couldn't take death back then and dealt with it by getting angry
- Despite everything, he refused to let the fear of death destroy him or his friends
- Believed that as long as they were together, they would make it.

What this means in Decollage?
Well, first, Ryner is very confused as to why Beauty said nothing about them being separated, if Beauty even knows. He does know that Beauty knows their world is in bad shape because of how cagey and protective he was the last time they spoke. So Ryner's feeling really antsy about losing his family and even more antsy about what happened to the little girl after this memory. Did she make it? How did he end up alone anyway?

Memory 76: Promising to carry the dango for Ferris

Memory goes here through the end o the scene.

What he learns?
- Sion wanted him and Ferris to help him with some special job so they planned to blow him off and keep searching for the relics.
- He agreed to carry Ferris' SEVEN PACKS of dango because he was thinking about how great it was that she had friends now.
- She doubled it to FOURTEEN since she's crazy!
- He already knows he did not fulfill his promise. :x

What this means in Aather?

Not a lot since most of this is just filling in the blanks for other stuff. But it does make him miss Ferris a lot. 8(
stigmateyes: (for the last time take a break already)
Memory 75: Realizing something is seriously wrong with Sion

Memory goes here. Read from the last diamond.

What he learns?
- He was doing an enormous amount of work for Sion and they were both exhausted, so much to the point that Sion could barely be angry at him for making a mess.
- Sion just fazed out on him, just like he did in Aather once he got that horrible skill.
- He forced Sion to sleep because he was seriously started to worry him.
- Sion was still trying to tease him the whole time to distract him. 8(

What this means in Aather?

Sion. 8( He knew most of this from seeing Sion go through it in Aather, but it still uber sucks.
stigmateyes: (beyond your sight)
Skill 20: Mastery over magic

So I've said a few times that Ryner is a really good mage. Like insanely good. And this is probably one of his most godmode aspects (aside from True Alpha Stigma). It basically allows him to invent and use his own spells. Sometimes they sound really ridiculous and sometimes they're kind of cool.

Examples:
- WHAT I SEEK IS A HUGE CLOUD>>>KUMOGIRI
- WHAT I SEEK IS..disappearing clouds>>D-DISAPPEAR!
- WHAT I SEEK IS...er...some sort of smoke>>KEMURI!
- WHAT I SEEK IS THE KINGDOM OF AFTERNOON NAPS, RYNER LUTE STYLED>>>WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I WANNA SLEEEEEEEP! And since I can sleep as much as I want, I'm so happy that I'll just scream! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
- WHAT I SEEK IS THE GOD OF ICE >>> FUEN
- WHAT I SEEK IS THE TUMBLING TRUTH OF IRIDESCENT DESTRUCTION >>> KUUKURA
- WHAT I SEEK IS THE INTERSECTING EIROHT KNOME PESRA >>> FUHAI

So yeah, from here on out, Ryner can pretty much make up whatever the hell he wants. o/ As for the powercap, I'll keep his magic within reason. But this magic also is pretty much the same cost as Roland magic since it's his so the MP will be based on how powerful the spell is.
stigmateyes: (why won't it stop)
Memory 74: Ferris telling him to live

Memory goes here until Ferris gets attacked.

What he learns?
- This is part of the fight with Liir. Ferris is protecting him from Liir's magic.
- Ferris was pissed at him for doing a suicidal rush at Liir since she didn't want him to die and leave her alone.
- Liir kept saying that monsters like him (Ryner) shouldn't exist, but Ferris said she didn't care if he was a monster.
- She said it all right for someone like him to be alive since they were companions. he couldn't comprehend hearing someone say that so casually, as if were the most obvious thing in the world.
- Liir attacked Ferris.

What this means in Aather?
It always shakes Ryner to hear someone tell him his existence isn't a mistake and that a person like him does more than just bring pain and death to all those around him. Amethyst has done a fair job of reminding him of that, in Ferris' absence, so this memory isn't quite as powerful as it would be without that. But it's still enforcing why he can't just give up on himself, even when things seem pretty bad. People still want him to be around. They want him, even though he's a monster.
stigmateyes: (a demon's smile)
Memory 73: First friend

Memory goes here.

What he learns?
- This memory takes over from when Asruld (Sion) stabbed the demon (him) in the eye. It didn't kill the demon. In fact, the demon was able to heal it without a problem.
- The demon's power is massive, enough to even analyze Asruld.
- Asruld can manifest dark swords out of nowhere. Can Sion still do this?
- Worshipper? He didn't know what that meant then either. That's the person who made Asruld?
- The demon originally wanted to die but changed his mind because he wanted to learn more about Asruld.
- Asruld was afraid that because the demon was stronger, that meant his life had no meaning.
- The demon said he would never let Asruld die because Asruld was his first friend. He knew he couldn't rewrite Asruld's existence so he would have to grant him his power for Asruld to break free.
- Asruld CUT HIM IN HALF!!!
- This was when the demon asked Asruld to devour him and his power so that Asruld could live on.
- !!!!!

What this means in Aather?
Well, it sure sheds some light on exactly why the demon let Asruld consume him, which was still kind of fuzzy from his original memory of this event. It also lets him know that if the demon is truly part of him, his true power is insane, which scares him a lot since he's still not sure how well he controls Alpha. This memory also hints a bit more about the curse that has been placed upon the hero, who is inside Sion, and whose fate Sion must share. Very distressing. But a big thing is the memory introduces a reason, although Ryner has no idea what that reason means and has never remembered anything like it before. It gives him something to pursue as a means to save Sion.

Oh yeah, remembering getting cut in half is SO NOT FUN. The demon is still friggin' crazy!
stigmateyes: (say what)
Memory 72: Golem

Memory goes here. Skip parts with Sion.

What he learns?
- The relics sure like to take the forms of scary things. In this case, a laser-firing golem.
- Ferris should really tell him when she picks up random objects.
- They probably never recovered that relic.
- Running away from mass destruction is still A++.

What this means to Aather?
Nothing really. Just a reminder that Ryner can be a lazy ass because someone else will take care of major problems. Which does make him guilty now since he knows that mentality is what lead to Roland and Sion's situation. 8(
stigmateyes: (what I seek is...)
Skill 19: Ultimate Roland Magic

This is one of the most powerful spells in Ryner's arsenal and the most powerful spell in Roland. Ryner will probably ONLY be able to use this in boss fights where there is no cap or where he has something to restore his MP. Using Kuuri will finish off his MP entirely!

Kuuri
- Incredibly destructive magic that slices anything in its path in a massive arc.
- I'm not going to cap Kuuri's abilities at all because of the HUGE COST I'm putting on using it. Kuuri will FUCK UP YOUR SHIT and do MASSIVE DAMAGE. I refuse to cap Kuuri because it is such a friggin' badass spell. You cannot dodge Kuuri.
- "What I seek is the rainbow of destruction. Kuuri!"
